FIFTIETH REUNION
MC (Chuck Giasson) Remarks
We give thanks for Bishop Gorman High School and the
gifts she engraved on our hearts and minds and for the teachers, coaches
and staff who taught and encouraged us - who even at times disciplined
us. Let us honor them by keeping our hearts open and young We offer our heartfelt thanks for those who have worked so creatively to make this reunion a reality and give us a taste of years past by helping us recall pleasant memories and special friendships. Tonight, as we enjoy this banquet, let us remember with compassion those who are hungry, lonely, sick or without a home. Touch our hearts to share ourselves and our resources to bring justice and peace to all your people. Lord, Bless this food and drink which we are about to receive. AMEN. Enjoy your meal. It's finally here our 50th Reunion! It seems impossible, doesn't it? But this means that it's time to make your arrangements to take part in our planned festivities on October 17th and 18th and celebrate this milestone, renew and revisit old friendships, reflect on those who are no longer with us and the blessings that make it possible for you, and all of us, to attend. You won't want to miss this momentous occasion. If you haven't had a chance to stay current with our class reunion progress on Facebook (yes, we're keeping up with social media), it's not too late to sign up online, connect with us, and stay up to date on our reunion plans, particularly post-reunion where I'm sure it will be a format to post photos and status updates. If you're keeping to your old fashioned ways, then go to our class website online (www.bghs64.org) for all the same reunion information sans the classmates' comments. Joyce has established a Class Gift Fund at Wells Fargo
Bank to buy a memorial bench on the BGHS campus. Our goal is to collect
$2,500 to purchase the bench, adjoining Jack Baud's, in Memory of our
'64 Deceased Classmates in recognition of our
50th Reunion. Anything over and above what we collect for the bench
will be donated to the school's tuition fund as part of our class gift.
Checks can be made out to BGHS64-50th and notated Class Gift. You will
see a place to donate (optional) on your reunion registration form.
Please send to: Gary and Chuck are creating a Memory
Book but they need information from each of us. If you have not
entered your submission, please go to www.bghs64.org/form.htm. This
book will serve as a wonderful keepsake and update of our lives since
graduating. They also want to include information about all our classmates
who served in the military, so include the dates of service. The book
will include pictures in military uniform, along with past school and
present-day pictures. Please send those via email no later than September
5th to: Information about registering for the reunion, Homecoming schedule, and group room reservations at the South Point are included with this mailing. Don't miss out! Let the celebration begin
